Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey, and Chris Sununu, former governor of New Hampshire, both predict that former President Trump would lose to Vice President Biden in a rematch in 2024.
Both Trump nor Biden do not have the complete support of their own parties. On the Democrat’s side, many believe Biden is too old to be seeking another term in office. This has led to many Democrats hoping for a different presidential candidate.
On the Republican side, there are many who would like to see the Republican Party move forward. As a result, they don’t believe that Trump is the right candidate for 2024.
An ABC-Washington Post poll shows that most American voters are not happy at the prospect that the 2024 election could end up being a rematch between the two men. In fact, most voters hoped that there would be a different choice of candidates from their party.
During an interview on ABC’s “This Week” with co-anchor Jonathan Karl, Christie had been asked whether he thought Trump would be victorious. In response, he said that he didn’t think that he would be. Similarly, in that same question earlier on the show, Sununu had also responded with a “no” stating that Trump was viewed as too extreme.
The men added that while Trump might win the Republican Party nomination he would not be able to successfully complete a run against President Biden.
