If there is one thing Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and his team have shown mastery of, it’s calling out corporate media, and his former spokesperson Christina Pushaw artfully did so again when she slammed “journactivists” holding a pity party for “brutal MS-13 gang members.” With the completion of the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism, an El Salvadoran prison designed to hold incarcerated gang members, it’s possible that the Central American nation’s president Nayib Bukele accomplished more to protect the United States southern border than President Joe Biden.
As Reuters reported on the transfer of 2,000 inmates to the facility, they weren’t shy about portraying the prisoners as victims writing, “El Salvador’s government moved thousands of suspected gang members to a newly opened ‘mega prison,’ the latest step in a controversial crackdown on crime that has caused the Central American nation’s prison population to soar.”
Pushaw was quick to single out the choice language of the outlet which seemed to favor the dissolution of American sovereignty preferred by the likes of billionaire George Soros. “Reuters is very upset that these brutal MS-13 gang members are locked up in El Salvador,” she quote tweeted. “Reuters wanted them to walk across our southern border and move into communities throughout the country, courtesy of Biden Air midnight flights and Soros NGOs.”

The suggestion was far from supposition as the Department of Homeland Security had previously warned U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents to remain alert to Venezuelan inmates being released by President Nicolás Maduro Moros much like infamous Cuban dictator Fidel Castro had done in the 80s during the Mariel boat lift.
Despite that, Reuters insisted on hedging toward siding with the plight of the prisoners, even as many of them had their gang affiliation overtly printed on their bodies.
“Reuters journactivists: ‘suspected gang members’” Pushaw called out. “Gang members: *have tattoos advertising their gang affiliations* — (Since American journactivists live in bubbles and literally know nothing, let me help you out … La Mara Salvatrucha = MS-13).”
She drove the point home further with a screengrab from the video of the prisoners being transferred where the “La Mara Salvatrucha” tattoo could readily be seen and laughingly noted, “Suspected.”

In total, the facility, located less than 50 miles outside the nation’s capital San Salvador, has the capacity to house up to 40,000 inmates throughout its eight buildings where prisoners are kept 100 to a cell.
Bukele’s crackdown on gang violence that included the arrest of over 64,000 suspects through an anti-crime dragnet is part of his long-term goal to revitalize his nation to stop the leading causes of flight from Central America.
“It is obvious, our country has failed to provide two basic things which are the two main drivers of immigration which are the lack of economic opportunity and a lack of security,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson during a 2021 interview. The problem was shared by his nation and the United States as America was left dealing with more illegal aliens and his country suffered an ever-growing loss of talent and labor.
“I do think we can learn something from other countries,” Pushaw pointed out. “Like, violent criminals should be locked up. Congrats to El Salvador for reducing the murder rate while it skyrockets in Chicago and NYC.”
