U.S. Launches Retaliatory Airstrikes In Syria

Daily Report NEWS

The airstrikes were in retaliation, according to the outlet, for a deadly drone strike that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps launched earlier in the day on a coalition base. The drone strike left one dead and several others injured. According to Fox:

The Defense Department said Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps crashed a UAV into a building near Hasakah in northeast Syria at approximately 1:38 p.m. local time, leaving one U.S. contractor dead. The attack also wounded five U.S. service members and another U.S. contractor.

The UAV was determined, by U.S. intelligence, to be of Iranian origin.

The U.S.’s response

As stated at the outset, the U.S. responded to the drone strike with retaliatory airstrikes of its own.

One airstrike was carried out at an arms depot in Harabesh, and it left six of the Iranian-linked forces dead. Another airstrike was carried out near Mayadeen, and it killed another two fighters linked to Iran.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin released a statement indicating that it was Biden who authorized the carrying out of these retaliatory strikes.

Austin said:

At the direction of President Biden, I authorized U.S. Central Command forces to conduct precision airstrikes tonight in eastern Syria against facilities used by groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

Austin added, “As President Biden has made clear, we will take all necessary measures to defend our people and will always respond at a time and place of our choosing. No group will strike our troops with impunity.”

Iran responds

Subsequently, Fox reported that Iran proxy forces launched retaliatory attacks of their own against a U.S. base in Northeast Syria on Friday.

Fox reports:

One was a rocket attack and the other involved multiple Iranian drones, the official said. The number of casualties has not been disclosed but some may be serious. The Pentagon was assessing its response.

America weakens under Biden

Biden and his administration are now facing much criticism over the situation.

Many are arguing that Biden has not done enough to prevent these Iran-backed attacks. Critics have pointed to the fact that Iran-backed attacks increased significantly after Biden took office.

It appears beyond argument at this point that America is weaker with Biden at the helm. And, as a result, America is not as safe as it has been in the past, which is demonstrated by the recent attacks.
