Should the transgender shooter’s manifesto be released by the FBI?

Should the transgender shooter’s manifesto be released by the FBI? Progressive journalist Glenn Greenwald, who founded the left-aligned investigative publication The Intercept, has announced that he is exploring legal options to sue the FBI and Nashville Police Department for the manifesto of Audrey Hale, the transgender shooter who recently killed six people, including three children, at The Covenant School.

According to Nashville police chief John Drake, Hale identified as a transgender and left behind maps of the school and a manifesto that hinted at other targets.

“We’ve spoken with 2 major law firms in Nashville who said they’d send retainer letters to represent us suing FBI and the Nashville PD to obtain the manifesto of the Nashville shooter, only to back out at the last second,” wrote Greenwald. “The political pressures are intense. We should see it.”

In March right after the tragedy, Nashville police confirmed the shooting was a targeted attack, and that Hale did in fact possess a manifesto.

The fact that the manifesto behind the Nashville school shooting has not yet been released to the public has raised significant concerns among the American people. The lack of transparency around the investigation has led some to speculate about potential motives for the attack, such as the religion of the students killed.
