The success of the operation was credited in part to the cooperation and support from Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia, which played a critical role in the extraction process.

In his statement, President Biden condemned the violence, calling it “unconscionable” and demanding that the belligerent parties implement an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. He also called for unhindered humanitarian access and respect for the will of the Sudanese people.
In light of the current situation, the U.S. Embassy in Sudan has temporarily suspended operations. However, President Biden affirmed the United States’ unending commitment to the Sudanese people and their aspirations for a better future.

I am proud of the extraordinary commitment of our Embassy staff, who performed their duties with courage and professionalism and embodied America’s friendship and connection with the people of Sudan.
