DYLAN MULVANEY’S OLD MAYBELLINE AND MAC COSMETICS COLLABS SPARK BOYCOTT CALLS

Daily Report USA

Dylan Mulvaney has been the talk of the town lately. The transgender influencer is one of the most well-known faces on social media at the moment.

She initially caught netizens’ attention after her collaboration with Bud Light went viral earlier this month. The partnership sparked controversy among the beer company’s conservative client base who called Anheuser-Busch’s inclusion efforts “gender propaganda”.

Following the Bud Light controversy, other brands like Nike and Olay, who collaborated with Dylan also received criticism on social media. Now Maybelline and Mac Cosmetics have joined their ranks, as irate tweets are targeting these two brands over their previous collaborations with the TikTok star.

A look at Dylan Mulvaney’s Maybelline collab

Right-wing Twitter users are targeting a Maybelline-sponsored video that Dylan put out in March this year.

The video, dated March 14, sees the 26-year-old transforming herself into her full glam avatar showing Maybelline product.

The caption reads, “Getting glam for my Day 365 show @maybelline #maybellinepartner.”

Dylan shows off the famous Maybelline New York Instant Age rewind concealer and also dabs a little lipstick on her lips at the end. She is in her usual cheery avatar in the video.

The video enraged a vocal minority of conservative Twitter users, who felt a makeup brand sponsoring Dylan must be “mocking women”.

HITC and GRV Media have reached out to Maybelline for comment.

Along with her partnership with Maybelline, Dylan’s previous collab with Mac Cosmetics has also come under fire from the same Twitter user base.

The enraged users have dug up an old video created by Mulvaney in partnership with Mac Cosmetics to promote the brand’s Viva Glam campaign on World AIDS Day 2022.

In it, Dylan does a full face of makeup using Mac products while talking about the impact of HIV AIDS on the transgender community. Despite the video’s positive message, angry tweeters have spared no epithet.

Dylan has a huge following on both TikTok and Instagram

Mulvaney is one of the most recognizable faces on the internet right now. She has 10.8 million followers and over 440 million likes on TikTok, where she first went viral for chronicling her transition. Nowadays, she makes a wide range of content, from brand partnerships, to videos meant to raise awareness for causes in need.

On Instagram, she has a massive following of 1.7 million.

Dylan has also made some high-profile friends. She has been photographed living it up with Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore among others.
