Gutfeld Stands Up To ‘Class Act’ Geraldo, Checks Him For Taking A Cheap Shot At Tucker

Daily Report USA

Leave it to Greg Gutfeld to properly check Gerald Rivera after he opted to smear Tucker Carlson after Fox News announced Carlson’s departure on Monday. Waiting until Wednesday, Rivera took a shot at Carlson in a tweet that referenced the Jan. 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol.

“I don’t wish ill on anybody, but there is no doubt-as I said at the time-Tucker Carlson’s perverse January 6 conspiracy theory was ‘bullshit.’ Having lost the election President Trump incited an insurrection that sought to undermine our Constitutional process,” Rivera tweeted.

Responding with the sarcastic humor he’s well known for, Gutfeld tweeted: “You’re a class act Geraldo. A real man of the people.”

Carlson has been very outspoken about Jan. 6 not being an insurrection because it wasn’t, this was a political narrative carefully crafted by the Democratic Party for political purposes.

“The vast majority of people inside the Capitol on Jan. 6 were peaceful,” Carlson said on his now-former show back in Sept. “They were not insurrectionists, they shouldn’t have been there. They weren’t trying to overthrow the government. That’s a total crock.”

When he aired never-before-seen video footage taken from inside the U.S. Capitol back in March — at least, what little Fox News would allow — Carlson acknowledged that some protesters were violent, but that most were peaceful.

“The footage does not show an insurrection or a riot in progress,” Carlson said. “The video record does not support the claim that January 6 was an insurrection. In fact, it demolishes that claim. And that’s exactly why the Democratic Party and its allies in the media prevented you from seeing it.”

“The crowd was enormous,” he continued. “A small percentage of them were hooligans, they committed vandalism … but the overwhelming majority weren’t. They were peaceful, they were ordinary and meek. These were not insurrectionists, they were sightseers.”

As for Geraldo, this is not the first time he has regurgitated the anti-Trump talking points.

“Tucker’s wonderful, he’s provocative, he’s original, but — man oh man,” Rivera told the New York Times in Oct. 2021. “There are some things that you say that are more inflammatory and outrageous and uncorroborated. And I worry that — and I’m probably going to get in trouble for this — but I’m wondering how much is done to provoke, rather than illuminate.”

Social media users didn’t hold back inletting Geraldo have it… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
