According to multiple reports, the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines officially announced on Wednesday, 31st May 2023 that they have separated their ways with Television production company Telvision and Production Exponent (Tape) Inc. The iconic triumvirate of the program of hosts stated on the web that they would be parting their ways and this show was halted just as it was about to go on telecast on its usual timeslot on GMA.

As per an insider, the declaration of this decision was supposed to have been made live on air. Apart from it, the next day, GMA Network issued a statement in which they states that they still have a block time agreement with TAPE until the end of 2024. GMA states in the released statement that “We are quite sad by the unexpected turns of events. Together with all the Filipino fans, we pray for a swift and smooth resolution of their issues.” However, at present it is not known if only TVJ will be leaving the reality show or if some of several co-hosts of the show will be becoming part of it.

According to the announcement, the regular hosts of the show were not able to go live with their program the way they usually did. Eat Bulaga recently declared that they have separated their ways with their production company, TAPE. As per hosts of the show, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto, the studio did not permit them to record their live show on Wednesday, 31st May 2023.

In the video, he states that “We came here today for our usual work but we all were forbidden to telecast live by the new management of the studio.” The video continued further with the hosts who express their gratitude to both their fans and their advertisers for the loyalty and love they had shown to the series over its more than 4 decades on the telecast.

However, at this moment, Tito was not clear about whether the show would continue or not, but he used the video in order to express the gratitude they had been able to make their home at Tape Studios. He stated in the viral video, “If you all recall, 30th July 1979, when we began to Eat Bulaga. 44 years this year. This is the reason we are saying thank you to those who have been our home RPN9 for 9 years, ABS-CBN for 6 years, and of course, GMA for 28 years. We are thanking you very much.”
