According to some accounts, Charro Lomeli was shot by two assailants from another vehicle while he was operating his Dodge Ram truck on Juan Alonso de Torres Boulevard in the San Jeronimo area of Leon, Guanajuato. According to reports, Lomeli was en route to the gym at the moment of the attack. He tried to shift the car into reverse, which led to an accident involving another car.
