A groundbreaking development has emerged in Washington State, as the legislature has approved SB 5599. This controversial bill permits the state to remove minors from their parents’ custody if the parents do not consent to gender transition surgeries for their children.
Democrats Unanimously Approve, Republicans Reject
The bill was met with unwavering support from all Democrats, while not a single Republican cast a “yes” vote. Washington State Senator Marko Liias, a Democrat, made a statement regarding the passage of the bill:
“Current law mandates licensed shelters to inform parents when a child seeks refuge, unless an exceptional reason exists. This legislation permits certified shelters to notify the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) instead of parents in certain situations, such as when a youth seeks reproductive health services or gender-mutilation care.”
Senator Liias justifies the government’s intervention in parental rights, arguing that providing housing options to minors in crisis is essential.
Unintended Consequences and Regret
The internet has seen a surge in stories of minors who have undergone gender transition surgeries and now regret their decisions. One heartbreaking case involves a former transgender teenager from Commie California who is suing the medical group and hospital that persuaded her to transition at the age of 15.
Chloe Cole, now 18, was put on puberty blockers at 13, which led to joint pain, weakened bone density, and ongoing UTI symptoms. At 15, she underwent a double mastectomy and was prescribed puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. Cole now deeply regrets these irreversible, life-altering choices.
The Lawsuit: Coercion and Deception
Cole is suing The Permanente Medical Group, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, and several doctors who administered or advised her on transgender hormone therapy and surgical intervention. Her legal team alleges that these medical professionals propagated two falsehoods, coercing Chloe and her parents into a medical experiment.
The first accusation is that they falsely informed Chloe and her parents that her gender dysphoria would not resolve unless she transitioned both socially and medically. The second accusation is that they convinced Cole she was at high risk for suicide, which could only be mitigated through social and medical transition.
Cole’s parents were allegedly pressured with the question, “Would you rather have a dead daughter or a live son?”
A Search for Justice and Change
Chloe Cole is seeking punitive damages based on evidence of malice, oppression, and fraud. However, her ultimate goal is to create a precedent that will alter the future of these practices and pave the way for other de-transitioners to seek justice.
Harmeet Dhillon, one of the attorneys representing Cole, stated, “The medical system shouldn’t dictate the future of young children’s lives. Through this legal action, the ‘professionals’ involved will be held accountable for their despicable plot to mutilate children and financially benefit from it. We will break the cycle of them breaking our children before it’s too late.”
According to the new law in Washington State, minors are deemed capable of consenting to life-altering surgeries, even though they are not allowed to smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol. If their parents do not agree, they risk losing custody of their children.
