Damon Atkins arrested
Despite police warnings, a man shouted Bible scriptures in opposition during a pride gathering and was later detained for disorderly behavior. At a free Pride Month event in Reading, Pennsylvania, which is about 64 miles northwest of Philadelphia, the incident happened on Tuesday morning. Damon Atkins was seen on camera getting into a fight with police who were on patrol close to the event when he tried to yell a verse from Corinthians. “Let them have their day,” the cop remarked to Atkins. “Honour it.” “Do you know who is supporting us? The inhabitants of hell,” the speaker said. “Therefore, you do you, and I’ll do me. This belongs to the public.
Atkins was reading a verse at the gathering when the cop in the video clip quickly moved to stand between him and the crowd before turning around to arrest him. “That does it. You’re finished, the policeman remarked. As the incident occurred on public property, Atkins asserted that he was acting legally during the altercation. He was carrying a placard that said, “God said go and sin no more,” and he was wearing a shirt that said, “You must be born again,” as shown in the video.
