Melania Trump Responds After Marriage Rumors

Donald and Melania Trump’s marriage has been the subject of every rumor imaginable. When they first moved into the White House in 2017, Democrats acted as though she was being held hostage and made her into a victim. Of course, it didn’t take long for them to turn on her and treat her with the same disdain they treated the 45th president. Now, even two years after they have left Washington, DC, the rumors persist. And recently, the former FLOTUS’s office responded to the chatter.

Melania Trump has stayed out of the spotlight since leaving the White House. She has, instead, focused on raising her young son Barron Trump. When news of her husband’s indictment and subsequent arraignment broke, various news organizations speculated about the state of her marriage. For example, the Mirror reported the couple could be headed for a divorce and cited so-called “insiders.” The Miami Herald published a report asking where the former first lady was when her husband was being arraigned. The Mercury News claimed a “political observer” said her absence said “everything.”

On April 11, it seems Mrs. Trump was over the rumors. Her office released a rare statement slamming the press for its reporting. In the statement posted on Twitter, her office said that various media organizations have “made assumptions” about her position “on subjects that are personal, professional, and political,” and “unnamed sources” are always used to support the claims of the authors. The statement urged readers to use “good judgment” when trying to decide whether a story is true.

The Trumps have been married since 2005. Neither one of them has ever publicly indicated they are unhappy in their union. They share one son together, who is 17 years old. Melania Trump has always been very private; it wasn’t until Donald Trump became president that her low-key lifestyle spurred rumors.
