In an interview with Sky News, Hillary Clinton, the former Democratic presidential candidate and secretary of state, confidently predicted that former President Donald Trump will not win the next election and that Joe Biden will be re-elected regardless of who the Republican candidate is.
“Next year, America goes to the polls. Donald Trump is running for president while under criminal indictment,” Beth Rigby said. “This, the man who back in 2016 consistently accused you of law-breaking and actively encouraged chats of ‘lock her up,’ directed at you. It’s pretty ironic, isn’t it, that he’s now a former president that could face a jail term. How does it make you feel?”
“Well, I always thought about him, and if you follow him, I think you can see it as well, he accuses people of doing things he himself is doing,” she replied. “It’s a form of psychological projection. And I always thought that his record in business in particular, but then as we saw him in politics and government, he was someone who cared nothing about rules. He cared nothing about the law.”
“So, he has been indicted, and there may be others as well, but he has said he is going to keep running and there’s nothing in our current system of laws that would prevent him from running,” she added. “But even if he gets the Republican nomination, he cannot, in my view, be re-elected president.”
“Why can’t he be re-elected?” Rigby asked.
“I think people are more onto him and his behavior than they were before,” she responded. “He has hardcore support that is likely to help him win the Republican nomination. But in a general election against President Biden, I do not believe he can win.”

As Trump had previously made multiple claims against Clinton, including accusations of spying on him and rigging the 2016 presidential election in her favor, despite him ultimately winning the election, Clinton’s statement could be seen as a rebuttal to those accusations and a show of confidence in Biden’s chances of winning re-election in the future.
She also said Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who is expected to run for president as a Republican candidate, will be unsuccessful as he is “unproven.”
“Nobody really outside of Florida knows very much about him, and in Florida, they’re watching him do crazy things,” Clinton claimed.
“So I actually believe that President Biden will be re-elected regardless of who the Republican nominee is,” she said.
She also dismissed suggestions Mr. Biden, who is 80 years old, would be too old to be president.
“I feel like I could do the job. I’m in my mid-70s,” she said. “I think it really should be a matter of what he has done as president.”
Hillary Clinton also addressed the contentious issue of abortion in the United States. She highlighted that 13 states have banned terminations following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June of last year.
Clinton specifically referenced Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ recent ban on abortions after six weeks in the state and expressed her belief that Republican politicians will continue to push for such bans, which she views as detrimental to both women and the Republican Party’s success.
Clinton further criticized efforts to limit abortion even in cases of rape, incest, and when a mother’s life is at risk, calling it “not only a terrible policy that should be rejected on its merits” but also a “bad political decision.” She argued that when given the chance to vote against anti-abortion laws, the public will reject them.
As a prominent political figure with a history of advocating for abortion rights, Clinton’s comments shed light on her perspective on the ongoing debate.
“So I am quite unbothered by the political consequences, but extremely bothered by the real-life consequences of the fact that women will die because they are not being given appropriate reproductive health care,” she claimed.
“We know that the people of Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, overturned their long-time ban on abortion because of the consequences,” she added. “So it’s only a matter of time when that will also happen in the United States.”
