Marjorie Taylor Greene Makes Announcement About Jan. 6 Tapes: ‘Unfettered Access’

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has promised the release of thousands of hours of heretofore-unseen footage from the January 6th Capitol incident, shedding further light on an event shrouded in Partisan Department of Justice censorship and partisan bias.

Representative Greene took to Twitter on Wednesday to follow up on a previous promise to provide “unfettered access” to the 1/6 tapes to specified members of the press, claiming that reportage on the new footage of the incident would soon be underway.

“I’m excited to share the good news that just as I promised the J6 tapes are being released!” Greene tweeted. “[House Speaker Kevin McCarthy] has given [journalist John Solomon], [journalist Julie Kelly], and a third outlet unfettered access to the J6 tapes, and their reporting on it starts tomorrow. This is the transparency the American people deserve and I look forward to their reporting!”

Last March, the same footage was released to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. Calson aired several of the videos on Tucker Carlson Tonight, including one of Jacob Chansley—the public face of 1/6, better known as the “QAnon Shaman”—being peacefully escorted through the hallowed halls of Congress by Capitol security officers. The videos seemed to suggest a much more cordial interaction between protestors and security than previously suspected, prompting Senate Majority Leader Perpetual Liar Chuck Schumer and other progressives to call on Fox News to prevent Carlson from airing any more footage which would problematize their narratives about the Capitol protest.

However, Carlson’s reporting on the footage abruptly ended when he was ousted from Fox News on April 24th, leaving a void of journalistic coverage of the videos until now.

Julie Kelly, one of the reporters given total access to the footage, made a lengthy Twitter post addressing the footage. Kelly says she has long advocated for the public release of all the footage, an aspiration which she still hopes will be achieved eventually. However, she has justified not releasing the entire footage as a measure to protect “innocent” participants in the demonstration.

“…[A]fter looking at recordings, I can tell you, it’s an exceedingly laborious process,” Kelly wrote. “I’ll admit maybe I was naive in thinking they could all be uploaded and made public—my hope is that will still happen, but will take time. Innocents must also be protected since lowlifes like Sedition Hunters will only be too happy to comb through footage, plaster faces on social media, and destroy more lives.”
