Before being incinerated, poor Warden Jaegger (Holt McCallany) called out the same name over and over again, that of Hober Mallow. In “King and Commoner,” we are introduced to this confident man who is currently in such hot demand.
The scenes with Hober feel inspired by the Star Wars franchise, although it may be the other way around, bringing to mind the cheeky-chappy persona of Han Solo.
This is a highlight of the latest installment, which again showcases some truly stunning CGI work. Here’s what happened in Foundation Season 2, Episode 3:
- Gaal and Salvor talk about the premonition and Salvor’s death. Hari takes over the ship and lands them on a desert, mining planet. He has his own plans in mind.
- Poly and Brother Constant decide to search for Hober Mallow themselves. They travel to Korell, where Hober is up to his old tricks. He cons Commander Argo out of a priceless jewel and is then arrested.
- Gaal and Hari head towards a monument. Hari discusses his life partner Yanna. Inside the mines, Hari introduces Gaal to Kalle. Hari is then taken away.
- At Lepsis Penal Colony, Demerzel tracks down Bel Riose. He is now a slave on this desolate planet. She offers him freedom if he will fight for the Empire once again. Bel accepts the terms when he hears that his husband is still alive.
- Brother Day and Bel are reunited. They argue, but Bel is allowed to see his husband again. Bel accepts his first mission, to find out whether Hari is a threat or not.
- Gaal returns to the ship. Salvor suggests they ditch Hari, but the ship is attacked by mining machinery. They then find a life form on the top of the monument.
- Hober saves himself from being executed and steals Brother Constant and Poly’s ship. The three of them escape Korell together and head to Terminus.
- Gaal saves the life form, which happens to be Hari. He is now in human form again. Even Hari doesn’t understand this transformation though.
