Former President Donald J. Trump took a swing at Fox News over the airing of clips of late-night comedian Bill Maher who is one of the few high-profile liberals who regularly expresses savage criticism about the “woke” cultural jihad against America, accusing the conservative network of being gullible and playing into the radical left’s hands. Maher has parlayed his willingness to buck the Democratic Party’s rabid base into increased exposure with a new deal with Fake News CNN which will air the “Overtime” segment of his weekly HBO show “Real Time With Bill Maher” on Friday nights,
infuriating hardcore leftists and earning the ire of Trump who slammed both Fox News and Maher, a fierce critic of his whom he called a “low ratings sleazebag” in a scorching rant on his Truth Social platform.
“It amazes me that Fox News and soft Conservatives immediately put up Bill Maher on their Network when he makes a statement that is close to normal. They think they’re being so cool, but MAGA people and real Conservatives view them as fools, playing right into the Radical Left’s hands, and don’t like it…,” Trump wrote on Thursday.
“…Bill Maher is a Low Ratings sleazebag who should never be shown on a Conservative Network. He doesn’t believe in anything we stand for, and never will. He’s laughing at you for being weak and stupid!” Trump added along with a link to a Breitbart story on Fake News CNN’s deal with Maher.
It isn’t the first time that Trump has expressed his contempt for the smarmy comic and the conservative media’s promotion of him.
“He’s a radical left maniac with modest television ratings,” he told the crowd in a speech in Tennessee last summer. ”
“As soon as he says something that’s a little bit modest, or temperate, Fox and others put him on to explain ‘Oh look, Bill Maher! A Lefty! Bill Maher is saying wonderful things.’”
“They play right into the hand of the enemy. It’s amazing,” Trump said. “I’m sure he laughs like hell at how stupid they are. They’re kissing the ass of the enemy, and in that case, his ass is not particularly pretty!”

In 2013, Trump unsuccessfully sued the comic after he suggested that the billionaire businessman’s mother had sexual relations with an orangutan and Maher spent the ex-president’s entire White House term using his HBO platform to attack him, much to the delight of his left-wing studio audience which expressed their approval by clapping and barking like trained seals.
Maher himself joked about how his regular critiques of the progressive lunatics running the Democratic Party asylum spurred his image rehabilitation, boasting about how he’s now a “hero” at Fox News.

“Now, some people think this means I’ve changed, I assure you, I have not,” he said. “I am still the same unmarried, childless, pot-smoking libertine I always was,” he added, drawing hoots of approval from the live audience.
“I have many flaws but you can’t accuse me of maturing,” Maher continued. “Let’s get this straight, it’s not me who’s changed, it’s the left who is now made up of a small contingent who’ve gone mental and a large contingent who refuse to call them out for it.”
“But I will, that’s why I’m a hero at Fox these days,” he declared to applause, “which shows just how much liberals have had their head up their ass because if they really thought about it they would have made me a hero on their media, but that can’t happen in this ridiculous new era of mind-numbing partisanship where, if I keep it real about the nonsense in the Democratic Party, it makes me an instant hero to Republicans.”
Maher has also spoken favorably of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with whom Trump may be on a collision course if the popular Republican leader chooses to launch a 2024 White House run.
